Guerilla Advertisement Presentation

PCA Open Day

What's important about Guerilla advertisement?

  • Shock/wow factor
  • Remembrance
  • Gossip

PCA Open Day This Way!

In a city not so far away...
Was a college, filled with ambitious and intelligent students
Eager to learn the ways of an artist
Through sheer determination
They learned many skills and grew closer to their goals
Until one day, after much hard work
little did they know
Their work would be displayed in the PCA open day
And you can see it all
This way......

Spot the two differences....if you haven't already spoted the obvious one

Guerilla advertisement ideas generation

The shadow  of the sundial could be used as a means for my guerilla advertisement. I could have something like 'PCA open day' text written across the time that it's open, so for example, say the open day started at 7AM then the text would start there, and then if it ended at 6pm then the text would finish there.

Idea 2

For my second idea, I was thinking of focusing this idea around the top doors of the mall(ones leading to the college itself) And having a vintage photo frame around the door and a path leading to the college.

Xbox 360 design mind maps

In groups in our class, we were set different age groups as our target audience, and then we had to produce a mind map to generate ideas for an xbox 360 game for that target audience age range. This was a very useful and productive exercise, and great to do as a group as this brought together many ideas from each of us which could then be expanded upon with discussion and ideas. This images are the mind maps from all groups in the class.(click images to enlarge)

Word association.

When you are really stuck for an idea, one method of inspiring creativity is to use word association.
The following word lists were created through class discussion, with lists of adjectives and nouns being created.

Desperate
Deformed
Dysfunctional
Dire
Delightful
Desolate
Demonic
Destructive
Dreary

Hateful
Hairy
Hopeful
Hideous
Hypercritical
Heavy
Hearty
Huge
Hillbilly
Hog
Hut
Hole
Horse
Helicopter

Persistent
Positive
Protagonist
Prickly

Pineapple
Pound

Pillar

In this exercise, we defined the words to associate, with nouns and adjectives. We have a list of words from three different starting letters, D, H and P. Twenty for each, ten nouns and ten adjectives. We then had to pick one of the letters and use one noun and one adjective to make a name for our character, for example pessimistic pigeon. This was a very enjoyable way of idea generation as a class and was a very useful way of getting ideas for a character name, in my opinion this is best used in a group, as the class thought quickly when asked to quickly give give ten nouns and ten adjectives.

Ideas generation.

For the Alumni bank logo, I was thinking of using scales as the main focus of the logo, with the name underneath.

Brief

No
to be used on
  • Online (Website, online advertising, banner ads etc)
  • Merchandise (Mugs, T-shirts etc)
further requirements
I am targetting both current college students and alumni. I want a smart, young, modern look, but also one that is playful and accessible. Also, I would like to be able to customize the logo for a given school. So if the logo has the name in it, there should be an easy way to add an element with the given school's name or logo. That way when one goes to a school specific section of the site, we won't lose the brand/identity of the entire project, but will connect it more closely to that community. Also, I might be looking for a designer to redo my entire look of the site, I am just starting with a logo to see how this works. the site is at www.thealumnibank.com. Thanks!
